Have spent a bit of time on the car today. Took it through the car wash for the ‘Full Works’, hoovered it out and polished the trim etc. I’ve always taken quite a lot of pride in the state of my car, especially now we have one that is so new. There are no chinks in the paintwork, no scuffs on the alloy wheels, no marks on the interior …and I really want it to stay that way for as long as possible.

I’ve actually got quite a long journey to make tomorrow. Am off to Peterborough to visit one of the Distribution Centres that service the company I work for. It’s a 4+ hour journey from Taunton (closer to 5 if you factor in traffic etc) so will be a nice test for the car and Co Pilot sat nav on my iPhone. Am estimating being on the road for 10-12 hours, and coupled with the 6 hour day thats planned for me when I actually get there, I think i’ll be pretty tired tomorrow night!

I’ve been getting a lot of renewal notices for danlawrence.co.uk recently. I was actually contemplating not renewing at all as this blog is fairly stagnant these days and I could easily move it over to some free wordpress hosting with one of their .wordpress.com domain names … then it dawned on me…. both mine and Lucys email addresses run through this domain! doh!

So – renewed for another 2 years!

I think I have successfully gone cold turkey on my Facebook status updating! Honestly, it’s as addictive as I imagine crack might be!

It will be 7 days tomorrow since my last update and it feels so good to have a relatively bare profile page. The addiction has passed I think!

I haven’t even ramped up my twitter presence to compensate .. think I am cured!

Has been a while since I blogged about my enthralling little life, so here are a few things that have happened:

• Went to see the band ‘The Pineapple Thief’ in Bristol
• Dropped my HD camcorder down the toilet on a train when hammered
• Bought a new, better, HD camcorder to replace the one above
• Attended 3x Antenatel/Parenting classes .. 2 of which were useful, one of which was not!
• Visited and subsequently chose the hospital where my kid is gonna be delivered
• Quit drinking till the baby is born, incase I need to drive at short notice!
• Decorated and furnished the babys nursery
• Made my noisy Media Center silent once again …altho the noise has since returned!
• Got an iPhone
• Sold a Marillion CD on ebay for £85 !
• Started re-watching LOST from series 1 in High Definition!
• Booked gig tickets and accomodation in Leamington Spa for December ..meeting my Marillion Weekend room buddies for a rather large drinking session!

Plus more mundane shit I can’t be arsed to post.

I’ll be blogging more about the antenatel classes at some point …I need to rant.

It’s up and down like a whores drawers, but it’s now back!

Normal service will be resumed over the next few days with more inananely boring installments from my enthralling life.

I bet you can’t chuffing well wait? … I know I can’t!

I just spent an hour and a f*cking half in the car ….and did just 9 miles!

I went to fill my car up with fuel and to get some Lucozade to perk myself up a bit  (shattered after coming off nights). Got to Morrisons and the road going in was jammed, so I gave up there and went onto the BP garage further down the road ….. However, Diesel was 4p per litre more there (fuck that!) …so I didn’t bother going in. I carried on and went to swing around a roundabout at the end of that road so I could go back the way I came, but it was gridlocked!  I went round it 3 times trying to squeeze in but it was jammed and the offending people wouldn’t acknowledge me!!!!!!!!!!

Short of getting out of the car and getting myself into a bit of a road rage moment, I had no choice but to go to the Motorway junction – the idea being i could zip up to the next junction and come into town from the other end (Bwater has a junction either end for some reason). Anyway .. I pulled onto the slip road for the mway ..and guess what? …. fucking gridlock …..

1 HOUR later i make the 5 or or so miles to the next junction ..then it takes me another 15 mins to get back into town cos of the traffic … With this, I decided to sod the Fuel and the Lucozade and headed home……

Nice waste of my time eh?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
