Windscreen Woes

Am having loads of trouble with my windscreen washer jets on my car getting blocked and am always having to realign them with a pin. They completely miss the windscreen after a few days of driving! …infuriating when you drive the motorway to work and back in this weather, especially at 6am when there is so much shite on the roads that hasn’t been touched for a few hours …it tends to turns my windscreen a shade of white by the time i get to work!

So – just ordered a replacement set of washer jets that are meant for a Citreon Xsara! (but are suitable for all Pugs and Citreons) that will give me the following effect:

I’d like to see that miss my fecking windscreen!

£6 for a pair from my local Pug dealer, should be in tomorrow :)

The Wii Factor!

We had my Dad and family round on the weekend and aside from chatting, wedding photos etc, the main focal point was the Wii we recently bought!

My 4 year old nephew, Jack, spied the remotes within seconds of walking through the door and was nagging me to turn it on straight away. Eventually I relented. We then had a couple of hours of mayhem whilst all the kids had an extended go.

Apart from Jack being scarily brilliant at everything on Wii sports (he’s 4 FFS!!?!! get him enrolled in a sports academy now!), the highlight was my Dad and Hayley trying out the boxing. Hayley won! ..and I managed to salvage one very blurry picture from the chaos that surrounded their fight!

Yep, documented evidence of my Dad being beaten by a girl! :D I can hardly talk though, I have yet to win against Lucy!

An enjoyable afternoon, and further proof that owning a Wii is a must for anyone!

Winner! ….Again!

Lucys nan sent me a scratchcard for my birthday. Finally got around to doing it and won £50!! Ker-ching!!!

Pleases me even more than normal as i’d never have bought a scratchcard myself, so would never have won. Infact, i’ve never bought a scratchcard in my life, and did the lottery once, when I was 16. …Never have been a gambler!

Trying to decide whether to put it towards a Sky+HD box, or put it towards my savings for next years Marillion Weekend.

I reckon the Sky+HD box will win, as when F1 moves to the BBC next year it will be broadcast in HD, and I definately need some of that methinks! Also, our standard Sky+ box is rubbish and a good 25% of all recordings we make end up freezing or crashing the box. Faulty, and out of warranty unfortunately ….so a new box is very appealing!

Another Year Gone

It’s my 28th birthday today. I’m getting old.

I still in many ways struggle to fathom where the last 10 years have gone? It really does feel like a couple of years since I was 18 …… then I look in the mirror and see that it clearly has been 10 years, or possibly more!

I Went out for a few civilised quiet beers with Leigh, Paul & Greg last night to ‘celebrate’ in lieu of the fact I will not be going out on the weekend.  I just can’t be arsed to go out and pretend to be down with the under age kids. The few beers were really enjoyable, particularly as I only bought a couple of them!

A ‘civilised, quiet’ few beers almost never happens. The night almost always descends into a blur of drunken-ness and chaos, so it was really nice for us all to have some willpower for a change. Although Paul, who was the biggest advocate of the ‘quiet’ evening, had to be restrained at the end of the night (a whopping 11pm!) as he was just hitting the vodka and redbulls and would clearly have stayed out till 3am! ………. Christ I feel old! lol

Tonight, me and Lucy are going out for a meal with my Mum & Gary (her other half).Should be enjoyable!

Presents? Well we are going to Bournemouth for the weekend in November to see Marillion at the Opera House, so my present from Lucy is tickets to that and the hotel etc. Plus i’ve just opened a card from Lucys parents with some money inside to enjoy ourselves with on that weekend! Really looking forward to it!

Now then …where did I put my slippers?

Winners!!

It’s only gone and happened again – I’ve only gone and won another flippin’ competition for Marillion gig tickets! However, this time Leigh entered aswell to increase our odds of winning, and he’s flippin’ well won tickets too!

So – we are going to Bristol (Colston Hall) and Dudley (JB’s) courtesy of the competition!!

I am already going to see them in Bournemouth on the 15th of November (Lucys first Marillion gig!), which makes it 3 Marillion gigs in one week for me! … F*cking awesome!!!

To top all that off, I just received an email saying the new album is being posted out as of today!!!! (I pre ordered it last year).

I am presently as happy as a pig in shit! :D

A 360 AND a Wii?!

I haven’t owned a games console since Sega’s ill fated Dreamcast back in the late 90’s/early 00’s, yet in the last month alone I have bought an Xbox 360 and a Nintendo Wii!

Why? I hear you ask?

Well the 360 was an impulse purchase. I recently spent a week at an IBM site that happened to be opposite an Amazon warehouse. A perk of working there was that we were allowed into the Amazon staff shop when it opened for an hour per day. I saw this 360 there, fully boxed etc etc for just £100. Whilst I didn’t really want it, it was such a bargain that I just had to grab it there and then! It helped that there was only one there, and there were a couple of other people perusing it, so I just grabbed it and paid for it! It definately helped the boredom factor when I was back at the hotel each evening!

Since then, i’ve acquired several games for it and whilst I don’t play it all the time, it’s a really nice way to spend a spare 30 mins as you can literally just turn it on and play (unlike a PC!). Grand Theft Auto 4 rocks!!

The Wii? Well i’ve wanted one of these for ages, primarily as it looks like great fun and is a different take on the coach potato gamer stereo type. I’ve mentioned it a few times to lucy in the past but she isn’t a fan of games consoles at all (to the point where i think she believes they are bad for you!).

The Normaliser

Just stumbled upon something called the last.fm normaliser. It runs over your last.fm profile, analysing what music you have listened to and gives a really cool set of stats. Freaky to think I have listened to 28,014 minutes of Marillion in the last 2.5 years!!! Is that even right?!!!!! ..

Here’s a sample anyway!

Nothing quite like seeing it like that! I listen to a lot more music than I realise methinks!!
